- I.C.E (I, II, III) – there are three categories in this class. I.C.E I exercise involves those participants who are looking for strong foundation in bike set-up and cycling technique. I.C.E II is a perfect exercise for burning excess fat from the body. Lastly, I.C.E III requires you to have had enough training with the first two classes before attempting it.
What to Expect In an Indoor-Cycling Class
There are some things that you should do when trying these classes and here are some of them:
- Be on time for the first class – if it is your first time, it is good to ask the fitness instructor to help you set-up the stationary bike. The handlebar and set heights need to be properly adjusted, together with the distance between handlebars and the seat.
- Do not overwork yourself – It is also important to avoid competing with others. A good instructor will guide you as a beginner until you are quite comfortable with all the techniques involved in a spinning class. With time, you will get used to it and start working extra harder.
- The instructor should also review proper form for every participant of a spinning class. So, ask your instructor to review the perfect form. Do not lean on the bike’s handlebars as this may put a lot of pressure on your wrists and shoulders.
- Make sure you have a bottle of cold and a towel with you while in a spinning lesson – you will definitely sweat a lot.
- Do not forget to wear protective clothing – e.g. bike shorts and gloves.
